Tortelli dolci (Turtlitt)

 

Ingredients

Flour
Sugar
Butter
Eggs
Oil
Lard
‘Mostarda’ (candied fruit in a mustard-flavoured syrup)
‘Amaretti’ (macaroons)
Chocolate powder
Rhum
Icing sugar


Preparation method

Prepare the dough with 300 grams of flour, 100 grams of sugar, 100 grams of butter and 2 eggs; spread into a thin round; make it into thin stripes onto which you’ll put small spoonfuls of the stuffing made with  300 grams of ‘mostarda’ (chopped), 80 grams of finely ground ‘amaretti’, a tablespoon of chocolate powder and a glass of rhum. Fold the dough on itself, press the external side of the stripe and cut with a round pastry cutter.

Fry ‘turtlitt’ in a pan with lard or boiling oil. As soon as both sides are golden, lay them on paper towels to remove excessive oil. Serve after spreading with icing sugar.
